Workshop on "Awareness of the Dangers of Substance Abuse and Addiction" – Monday, 16 December 2024
In collaboration between the Anti-Smoking Committee within the Campus of the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels and the Volunteer House at Mansoura University, and welcoming the Volunteer House team for field awareness activities:
As part of the ongoing activities of His Excellency the President of the Republic's initiative, "A New Beginning for Human Development", at the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels, and under the auspices of:
Prof. Sherif Youssef Khater, President of Mansoura University;
Prof. Mohamed Abdel Azim, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs;
Prof. Mohamed Ahmed Abdel Latif, Dean of the Faculty;
And under the supervision of:
Prof. Doaa Samir Hizah, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs;
Prof. Dr. Sahar Abdel Aziz El-Dakroury, Supervisor of the Volunteer House, Professor and Former Head of the Department of Forensic Medicine and Clinical Toxicology at the Faculty of Medicine, Addiction File Manager at Mansoura University, and Member of the Supreme Committee for Combating Addiction;
Organised by Dr. Sara Ali Hamaiel, Coordinator of the Addiction Programme for the Community Service Sector at the Faculty and Member of the Anti-Smoking Committee within the faculty's Campus.
The Anti-Smoking Committee, in collaboration with the Volunteer House at Mansoura University, held a workshop titled "Awareness of the Dangers of Substance Abuse and Addiction" on Monday, 16 December 2024, as part of the faculty's plan to participate in the World Volunteer Day activities.
The workshop was given by Mr. Belal Shaaban Ali, General Supervisor of Preventive Programmes at the Fund for Combating Addiction and Substance Abuse in Dakhalya Governorate. The session aimed to raise awareness amongst faculty's members about the dangers of substance abuse and addiction, including causes, motivations, complications, withdrawal symptoms, methods of overcoming them, and the importance of prevention strategies.
Additionally, the Anti-Smoking Committee welcomed the Volunteer House team, consisting of volunteers from the Fund for Combating Addiction and Substance Abuse, to implement field awareness activities for December 2024. These activities involved distributing banners to raise awareness among all college members about the dangers of substance abuse and addiction across various areas of the campus.
