The Community Service and Environmental Development Sector at the Faculty of Early Childhood Education and the Occupational Safety and Health and Securing the Work Environment Department at the university organized a training workshop entitled "Occupational Safety and Health and Securing the Work Environment" on Tuesday, February 25, 2025.

The training workshop aimed to spread the culture of occupational safety and health and secure the work environment among the administrative apparatus and the security sector at the college. The workshop was attended by a number of faculty members, auxiliary staff, members of the Community Service and Environmental Development Committees, the College's Environmental Sector team, and a number of those interested in occupational safety and health issues from various sectors. The workshop was also graced by the presence of a delegation from the Digestive Surgery Center and a delegation from the university dormitories at Mansoura University.
The training workshop aimed to raise awareness of the importance of occupational safety and health in the workplace and provide participants with the knowledge, information, and skills necessary to implement occupational safety and health procedures in the workplace. It also aimed to reduce occupational hazards and accidents in the workplace, improve work environments, and raise the level of practitioners in various jobs related to the work environment at the college. The training workshop began with a welcome from Prof. Dr. Samah Khamis, the College's Vice Dean, to the distinguished guests and attendees. She addressed the concept of occupational safety and health and its importance in the work environment, highlighting the importance of raising awareness of this issue within the college.
Then, Chemist Dalia Nabil Suleiman highlighted the importance of proper waste management and how to dispose of it safely.
Dr. Abu Al-Fotouh Hassan Abu Al-Fotouh also spoke about occupational safety and health procedures in the work environment, how to deal with different types of fires, and how to use fire extinguishers correctly. He also discussed the dangers of electricity and gas and how to prevent them.
Mr. Mahmoud Al-Deeb gave a practical demonstration of how to handle fire extinguishers in emergency situations, their different types, how to carry them correctly, the different types that can be used, and how to maintain them.
At the end of the seminar, Prof. Dr. Dalia Al-Etreby delivered a speech on the importance of safety and ensuring a secure work environment at the college, and the necessity of adhering to safety rules and preventive measures. The floor was then opened for discussion among the distinguished attendees on the most important questions related to how to deal with common hazards such as burns, electrical short circuits, mixed materials, and others. At the end of the training workshop, Professor Dr. Samah Khamis presented commemorative shields to the participants, which contributed to the enrichment of information and correct practices for occupational health and safety procedures. The training workshop concluded with a paper questionnaire about the extent of benefit gained from the training workshop, identifying its positives and negatives, and identifying topics to be covered in future training workshops..
